The new season got underway this week with plenty of action across the tables.

Strong Starts

Six teams made perfect starts with convincing wins:

• Clock Face Labour
• Conny Club X
• Conservative Club
• Crossbar X
• Crossbar
• Old Crow A

All secured 2 points, with the first five sides winning 7–2 and Old Crow A taking a 6–3 victory.

Wellington A also began with a win, edging their match 5–4 to collect 2 points.

Tough Openers

At the other end of the table, Perrys Bar pushed hard but fell 4–5.
The Bradley lost out 3–6, while Griffin A, Griffin B, Griffin C, The Club Burtonwood, and The Jubilee Club all endured 2–7 defeats.

Early Picture

It’s only the first week, but already six have set down a marker with dominant displays. With plenty of matches still to come, the race for the top promises to be competitive.
